On June 4, “Kanazawa University Top Global University Information Session for Faculty and Staff” took place at Natural Science Lecture Hall, Kakuma Campus and School of Health Sciences Hall 5, Tsuruma Campus via video conference system, and 411 faculty and administrative staff attended the event.
First, Prof. Yoshinobu NAKANISHI, Head of the Top Global University Project Planning and Promotion Headquarters, explained how and why Kanazawa University applied for and was selected to the Top Global University Project and the purpose of this information session. Then, President Koetsu YAMAZAKI gave the opening address stating “Kanazawa University aims to enhance its presence in Japan and overseas in 10 to 20 years, and for that aim we need to train human resources who can thrive as key members of global society. For the globalization of the students, the globalization of the faculty and administrative staff is also needed”. Afterward, Vice President Chisato MUKAI (General overview, Reformation, Research and Finance), Vice President Masayoshi SHIBATA (Education and Student Affairs), Advisor to the President Tomoaki TAKAYAMA (International Affairs), Vice President Yoshihiro FUKUMORI (Planning Evaluation, Information and Social Contribution) and Vice President Masahiro ARIMATSU (General Affairs, Human Resources and Facility) explained about their respective initiatives. The packed venues and active questions from the audience showed their high interest in the Top Global University project.
