On February 16, the ENGINE Program Certificate Award Ceremony was held at the Kakuma Campus.

This project was adopted by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and started its educational program in FY2021, and this year marks the third graduating class of the program. Nine of the ten graduates attended the certificate awarding ceremony, where President Takashi Wada presented each of them with a certificate of completion and words of congratulations and encouragement, with high expectations for their future endeavors. Next, speaking on behalf of the graduating students, Miyabi Yoshida, a fourth-year student, School of Entrepreneurial and Innovation Studies, College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, expressed her gratitude for receiving certification of completion, reflected on what she had learned through the ENGINE Program, and shared her aspirations for the future.

After the award ceremony, President Wada, Trustee Akiharu Morimoto, Professor Sagawa Tetsuya, Faculty of Regional Development Studies, Institute of Human and Social Sciences / Chairman of the ENGINE Program Planning and Executive Committee, and Program Coordinator Hirose Kazuki, along with the graduates, held a friendly discussion about their activities in the program and their future goals.

With the knowledge and experiences gained through the Regional Human Resources Education Program as their “ENGINE,” the graduates are expected to play an active role in shaping the future of their communities.
