As part of its student support programs, Health Service Center implements various events throughout the year related to food, music, self-understanding, etc. This time, a nutrition education program called "Decorate and Eat  Christmas Cake" was held on December 12th, and a total of 20 people participated, including 17 students, including 6 international students, and 3 staff members.

First, Masako Takanobu, a registered dietitian invited as an instructor, showed the participants a model of how to make a Christmas cake. Participants watched and learned how the instructor colorfully decorated the sponge cake and whipped cream base with fruits and chocolates, and then completed their own Christmas cakes based on their own ideas. After admiring each other's unique decorations, they tasted a slice of cake each.

Finally, we reflected on the program. Participants commented, "Spreading the cream on the cake was more difficult than I had imagined," "It was great that everyone was given the same ingredients, but each person was able to create a beautiful cake depending on their own ideas," "I feel like I improved my sensitivity by watching others decorate," and "I enjoyed making cakes freely while interacting with people I met for the first time. I was able to enjoy making cakes freely while interacting with people I met for the first time."
