On December 10, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative held ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA "Talk with Toshio Ohi, Leading Ceramic Artist of Kanazawa!" at Kakuma Campus. Eight students, faculty, and staff from Kanazawa Universuty participated.

For this event, we welcomed Toshio Ohi, a ceramic artist and the 11th-generation Ohi Chozaemon, as our guest. At the beginning of the event, Ohi introduced his career and activities to date. During the subsequent informal discussion, participants raised questions about his perspectives and art, deeply resonating with his words and gaining fresh insights.

Participants commented, "I learned a rich bird's-eye view of how we may have received the baton from our ancestors in the great flow of time to be here now," and "The importance of the 'soul' of the work and carefully handling the experience of the five senses, like listening to a fragrance, stayed in my mind." It was a time full of learning and awareness.

"ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA" is a program that creates opportunities for casual chats between students, faculty and staff, and people in the community. By freely discussing with each other without being restricted by occupation, industry, or position, we hope to help students to develop their careers and generate ideas for faculty, staff, and participating companies.
