As a large-scale energy creation initiative, Kanazawa University have begun field test using tandem perovskite solar cells with lead stabilization technology in a demonstration test space in part of the Solar Park in the Kakuma Campus North Area, which has been in operation since April 2024.

This fielf test is conducted as part of a commissioned initiative under the Ministry of the Environment’s program, "Regional Co-Creation and Cross-Sectoral Carbon Neutral Technology Development and Demonstration Project (Development and Demonstration of Lead Stabilization Technology for Tandem Perovskite Solar Cells)." Toshiba Energy Systems Corporation serves as the lead organization, with Choshu Industry Co., Ltd., the University of Electro-Communications, and Kanazawa University as co-implementers.

Through this field test, we will accelerate our efforts toward the practical application of tandem perovskite solar cells and contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

[Outline of field test]
 - Test Details: The field test involves mounting tandem perovskite solar cells with lead stabilization technology onto modules and conducting outdoor tests under conditions that simulate a real environment.
 - Test period: August 8, 2025 - December 2026 (scheduled)
 - Location: Solar Park, North Area of Kakuma Campus, Kanazawa University
