Strengthening International Collaboration through the Staff Training Program from Kasetsart University, Thailand

Kanazawa University welcomed a delegation of 16 members from Kasetsart University, Thailand—our partner institution under the inter-university exchange agreement—for a staff training program held from Tuesday, October 14 to Friday,October 17, 2025. The delegation included Prof. Dokrak MAROD, Ph.D., Vice President for Research and Internationalization, Prof. Kornsorn SRIKULNATH, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for the Research and Internationalization, as well as administrative staff members.

This program, launched by Kasetsart University in FY2024, aims to broaden the international perspective and enhance the professional capabilities of administrative staff who play a key role in university management.

During their stay, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Noriko HASEBE, Vice President for International Affairs, and participated in sessions hosted by the International Planning Division, International Student Exchange Division, and KU Strategy Office, Secretariat. For research support staff, briefings were provided by the Frontier Science and Social Co-Creation Initiative (FSSI), followed by site visits to the MIRAICHI Research Center and the Biomass and Green Innovation Center. In addition, they toured the Kanazawa University Museum with a guided tour by Assistant Professor Atsushi MATSUNAGA and actively engaged in a variety of programs, including the "Co-creation Workshop" led by Associate Professor Ikuho KOCHI of the Institute of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation.              On the final day, a results presentation and completion ceremony were held at the MIRAICHI Research Center, during which Prof. Masato KIMURA, Advisor to the President, presented certificates of completion to the staff members who had participated in the training program.                      

This training program was made possible through the support of Prof. Yutaka TAKEUCHI of the Institute of Science and Engineering, who acted as host professor following a request from Prof. Kornsorn SRIKULNATH, Assistant to the President for the Research and Internationalization, a long-standing research collaborator. The program served as a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the strong partnership between the two universities.
