2025 Memorial Service for Laboratory Animals Held

On September 25, Research Center for Experimental Modeling of Human Disease held the 2025 Memorial Service for Laboratory Animals co-sponsored by Institute of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences and Cancer Research Institute.

In front of the memorial monument at the Laboratory Animal Research Facility of the Center, approximately 170 faculty members and students offered a moment of silence in honor of the animals used in experiments for cutting-edge education and research in fields such as cancer studies, medicine, pharmacy, and health sciences. Professor Michihiro Mieda of the Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences, who serves as Chair of the Animal Experimentation Committee, expressed words of gratitude.

Then, Trustee Shinichi Nakamura (in charge of research, social co-creation, and graduate school support) and all attendees offered flowers and expressed their gratitude and condolences.

Finally, Professor Takiko Dikoku, Director of the Laboratory Animal Research Facility and Director of the Research Center for Experimental Modeling of Human Disease, gave a greeting, explained the future maintenance policy of the facility, and requested the use of the Science Commons, which is being implemented in cooperation with Institute of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences.
