From August 25 to 29, the Facilities Department of Kanazawa University conducted an internship program for students from technical colleges and universities in science and engineering fields. The purpose of this program was to provide current students with hands-on work experience, enhance their technical skills, and introduce the appeal of the university’s Facilities Department.
The participating students toured the campus facilities, visited the solar park and the seismic isolation site, got acquainted with the latest disaster prevention technology, and gained a better understanding of the size and importance of facility management by viewing the entire facility from the roof of the building. They also deepened their understanding of how technology can be useful in on-site operations through the experience of piloting a drone. The students also had the opportunity to exchange opinions with young staff members, and hearing the real voices of those working in the field provided a valuable opportunity for them to think about their future career paths and career development.
On the final day, certificates of completion were awarded, marking the successful conclusion of the five-day program.
