Kanazawa University COI-NEXT (*1), led by Professor Kenji Takahashi of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology, Institute of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University, will participate in the “Science Exhibition: Connecting Me and the Future” at the 2025 Japan International Exposition (Osaka-Kansai Expo). The exhibition will be held over six days, from August 14 to 19, in the “Connecting with the Earth” zone. This event is organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and aims to share the outcomes of industry-academia-government collaboration initiatives with audiences both in Japan and abroad. Its purpose is to inspire future generations to actively engage with social issues and take initiative in addressing them.
Kanazawa University will present its research under the theme “A Circulating Society Blessed by Biomass: How Can Plant-Based Plastics Transform Our Future?” The exhibit will showcase the university’s latest achievements in environmentally friendly, plant-derived plastics. Through this interactive display, visitors will be invited to explore the necessity and potential of biomass plastics, encouraging them to think critically about sustainable materials and their role in shaping the future.
