On February 27, KEYPAT*, a support team of Kanazawa University that aims to provide mental care for disaster victimes, visited the Suzu branch of Ishikawa Prefectural Special Needs School in Nanao and conducted a cooking workshop with nine high school students and teacher and made "Snacks are part of the meal: two-colored crispy pancakes with vegetables."

This food education program was prepared together with a registered dietitian in response to the needs of the homeroom teachers and nursing teacher of the Suzu Branch School, who wanted to hold fun events that had not been possible since the earthquake and wanted to increase the menu of vegetables that even one student can make at home by practicing cooking with a nutritional balance.

After demonstration by a registered dietitian from the support team on how to make the dish, the children split into two groups and made carrot pancakes, spinach pancakes, and komatsuna smoothies.

On the day, more than five high school teacher participated in the cooking class, and enjoyed eating while watching their students cook skillfully without injuring themselves.

KEYPAT will continue to conduct activities to support the mental health care and school community of students and teacher.
