Participating in disaster prevention education learning event for parents and children

On December 15th, students from Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station and their advisor, Lecturer Kaisei Harada from Faculty of Economics and Management, Institute of Human and Social Sciences, participated as operational supporters in the disaster prevention education event "Let's experience harmony together with parents and child - what we can learn from the Noto earthquake" organized by the Shinkanda Youth Association. On the day, participants learned about disaster prevention, including how to protect themselves, how to make temporary toilets, how to make stretchers and disaster prevention bags. In addition to making badges and Noto Hiba chopsticks, under the guidance of Koyama Chopsticks, a shop in Kawai-machi of Wajima City, participants took part in disaster prevention quizzes. Participants learned about Noto culture and disaster prevention together with members of the Ishikawa Prefecture Disaster Prevention Association.
