The extracurricular activity organization - Kanazawa University Volunteer Saport Station ("Borasapo") has been continuously planning, managing and participating in various exchange meetings with the disaster victims of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake 2024.
On December 8 and 22, "Welcome to Uchinada-machi Koryukai (exchange meeting)", took place. On December 8, participants deepened exchanges with disaster victims living in the Mukaiawagasaki area of Uchinada-machi through listening and playing boccia. On December 22, Borasapo planned a Christmas party in collaboration with the disaster relief volunteer group "TASUKE Ai", where students performed a handbell performance and provided participants with red bean soup.
On December 15th, Borasapo held a Christmas event at the "Let's go! Exchange Meeting" jointly organized with 11 groups of victims and supporters of the Great East Japan Earthquake. On that day, participants made Christmas wreaths together with the victims and enjoyed music and meal together.
On December 17, Kaisei Harada, lecturer of the Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management and leader of Borasapo ,organized Christmas event and conducted exchange salon activities at the "Hoshizora Cafe" in Sumiyoshi Community Center of Anamizu Town. The participants enjoyed chatting about how to spend and enjoy the year-end and New Year holidays in Anamizu.
On December 6, 13, and 20, students from Borasapo together with its leader lecturer Harada, participated in "Atsumaranke~ Noto!", an events that were held by the Kanazawa City Social Welfare Council and the Kanazawa Welfare Equipment Information Plaza, and enjoyed talking with disaster victims who came to the exchange salon. Borasapo volunteers spoke to those who were evacuated to Kanazawa City about the current state of the disaster area as seen through disaster volunteer work. Local residents also shared their memories and offered words of thanks and encouragement for the volunteer work.
Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station will continue to participate in exchange activities.
