On December 8, students from Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station with their advisor, Lecturer Kaisei Harada from Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management, provided support for the operation of "Wajima x Hokkaido Childrearing Support Meeting" that took place at Wajima City Health Center.
The event was organized by "Mirai Childrearing Network Wajima" and "Mama Concierge Wednesday". During the event food, clothing and other relief supplies were distributed to parents and children living in Wajima City. A children's playroom was also set up. Kanazawa University students, faculty and staff interacted with children who visited the playroom, and provided drinks in the rest area. After the event, by the request of the Wajima reconstruction support group Ligare, food support was provided at a temporary housing complex in Sugihira-machi, Wajima City. Due to the bad weather and snow on the day, volunteers visited the temporary housing directly and handed out food to those who requested it.
