On November 28 at the Kakuma Campus and on December 12 at the Takara-machi campus, ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA (*) ""Research supporting Noto recovery through multidisciplinary wisdom and collaboration" took place. 53 faculty and staff members of Kanazawa University participated in the event. Researchers from various fields gathered to share information and exchange opinions on Noto's recovery.
First, Kanazawa University Trustee and Director of Noto Resilience and Revitalization Center Akihiro Yachie gave a few words of greetings, followed by an exchange of opinions in groups. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, such as student volunteer activities and strengthening information sharing within and outside the university. Finally, Trustee Shinichi Nakamura gave a closing address, and gave a strong message of "Let's continue to work as "all Kanazawa University" for the recovery of Noto.
Participants commented: "I was able to hear valuable stories from medical faculty and staff", "I actually experienced the damage and felt helpless to do anything about the enormity of the situation, but I learned about the contributions of various specialists and realized the richness of Kanazawa University 's expertise" and "I am so busy with my daily work that I almost forget about disaster response and recovery efforts in Noto, but I felt the need to think about what we can and must do on a regular basis. I felt the need to think about what Kanazawa University can do and what we need to do on a daily basis.
