On December 16th, KEYPAT (☆1), a support team for mental care, held a lecture and practical program on relaxation techniques titled ^Stress Management: Relaxation with Mandala Coloring ̄ at G1 Open Studio of the Natural Science and Technology Library to coincide with the anniversary reaction (☆2) of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake 2024. Sixteen people, including students from Kanazawa University, and faculty and staff from our affiliated schools, participated in the event.

First, we explained about anniversary reactions, then about mandalas. After that, each person chose their favorite mandala and tried coloring it. In addition to four types of mandala paintings and 12 colored pencils, participants were also given 48 colored pencils and felt-tip pens to borrow if they wanted, which they were free to use, and we explained how they can continue to take care of themselves in the future.

Participants commented: "It has been a while since I enjoyed coloring. It was good to be able to concentrate", "I was able to take time to devote myself to a single task and feel a sense of calmness", and "I felt a great sense of accomplishment after completing the project. Seeing what I painted soothed my heart. It's really fun, and I enjoy it a lot" and "I feel like I need more time to finish it".
