On December 14th, with the cooperation of Ishikawa Prefecture and the Ishikawa Foundation for International Exchange, a disaster preparedness lecture was held for international students, with 21 students (including Japanese students) participating.

First, disaster preparedness activity advisor Akemi Takano gave a lecture on disasters that occurred in Ishikawa Prefecture before and how to prepare for them. Next, they had fun learning Japanese phrases to be known for emergencies using Karuta cards. They also had the valuable opportunity of making and tasting emergency food, and learning how to make and use portable toilets. In addition, a fire evacuation drill was conducted for residents of the student/international student dormitories "Sakigake" and "Hokumei."

It was a great opportunity for the participants to think about possible future disasters and raise their awareness of disaster preparedness.
