Over the two days of November 20th and 26th, High school students from Kanazawa University Affiliated School for Special Needs Education (group name: Clean Workshop) worked on beautifying the environment of Takaramachi and Tsuruma campus as part of their work-based learning. This time, they cleaned up the medical school promenade - collected fallen leaves that had turned red after autumn. After the work was completed, Professor Yasuhiko Yamamoto, Dean of the medical school, expressed his gratitude to the students, saying: "For many people, you have demonstrated the results of your daily studies and improved the environment!"
At the Affiliated School for Special Needs Education, students are engaged in hands-on learning activities such as environmental beautification across the university’s campuses and areas, as well as making cookies as commercial products. Through these experiences, they are learning why education is important and how it connects to contributing to society, all while working toward greater independence. By participating in such practical learning, they explore what they can and should do for society.
