On November 29, Kanazawa University Strategic Project for Development of Doctoral Students and Research Promotion (HaKaSe?) held the 8th Next Generation Three Schools & Project Information Session. More than 100 bachelor, master, and doctoral students attended the event.
HaKaSe? focuses on supporting doctoral students who are full of enthusiasm to contribute to the advancement of science and technology and the creation of innovation in Japan as doctoral students, and to open up the future, and strongly encourages students to continue doctoral studies. The following two sessions took places: Part 1 "The 8th Next Generation Sanjuku" and Part 2, "Project Information Session".
In the first part of "The 8th Next Generation Sanjuku" Professor Kunio Matsumoto from Nano Life Science Institute, who is also the president of Vision Incubate Inc. gave a speach. Many of participating students were impressed by his words that it is important not only to focus on one field but also to challenge various fields to broaden one's perspective and deepen one's knowledge, and that it is important to approach research with a flexible mind.
In the second part of the "Project Information Session" Kanazawa University Trustee Morimoto (in charge of education, Vice President), Chair of the Joint Executive Committee for the Strategic Project to Support Doctoral Researchers and Strengthen Research Capabilities, gave an overview of the project and explained the application process for the April 2025 academic year. Afterwards, four HaKaSe? selected students talked about how they are working hard on their research to obtain their doctoral degrees.
Kanazawa University by HaKaSe? will continue to support students as they embark on the path to becoming doctoral candidates, with the mission of fostering and producing doctoral candidates who will be active in the future society.
