On October 26th, students from Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station and their advisor, Lecturer Kaisei Harada from Faculty of Economics and Management, Institute of Human and Social Sciences,, in cooperation with the Shin-Kanda Campus Youth Association, conducted a "Let's All Make a Shin-Kanda Hazard Map!" event aimed at parents and children living in the Shin-Kanda area.

On the day of the event, the 20 participating parents and children explored the area around the Shin-Kanda Community Center, recorded dangerous spots, and then returned to the community center to create a "Hazard Map" that summarized the contents of dangerous spots and countermeasures. During the search, the participants paid attention to the flooding of rivers and ditches during heavy rains, and to the evacuation centers such as elementary schools, community centers, and parks. Through the creation of the "Hazard Map", the group and parents and children discussed the routes to and from school and where to assemble in the event of a disaster.

In the questionnaire, many participants answered that the event was a good opportunity for them to rethink about disaster prevention, and some even asked for a lecture on the contents and use of the disaster prevention bag.
