On November 15th, six students from School of Teacher Education, College of Human and Social Sciences, majoring in music education, together with Associate Professor Akiko Asai and Lecturer Chihiro Nishijima from the Faculty of Education, Institute of Human and Social Sciences visited Suzu City Houryu compulsory education school and implemented a musical exchange project called "Music for everyone @Noto".
The students have been selecting songs and practicing since March, and in May they visited an elementary school in Nanao City and in October they visited an exchange center in Anamizu Town, and this is the third time the program was held. This time, the students played music bells, tone chimes, body percussion, chorus, and instrumental ensemble, and at the end of the event, they played musical instruments with children and teacher. The children listened intently to the performance, and played their instruments with their whole bodies full of energy. Some of the teacher danced to the music, and all participants had a great time.
The children commented: "It was amazing to hear all the bells played together", "It was fun to play the instruments" and "I thought it was great that they could make various sounds with their bodies".
In order to make these activities in Noto widely known, we plan to perform some of the performances that were held in the same project at the regular concert to be held at the Ishikawa Prefectural Bunkyo Hall in December and the graduation concert in March next year.
