On November? ?6, "-The mental strength to open up the future - Resilience improvement training" took place mainly for mid-career employees.
?Resilience refers to psychological resilience and adaptability, flexibility to stress and change, and the ability to grow strongly. As the circumstances surrounding universities change drastically, the work performed by universities is becoming more sophisticated and complex year by year, and the same is true for the duties of administrative staff, and the sophistication of roles in daily work is required. Even under such circumstances, the purpose of the event was to improve the resilience necessary for each individual to maximize their performance while maintaining their mental health and to adapt to unexpected difficulties.
In the training, participants worked in groups to reflect on their past experiences in light of changing circumstances and the roles expected of mid-career staff, and confirmed their own strengths as a source of motivation using a values diagnosis. The participants also learned how to think flexibly about events and how to cope with emotions. Each group discussed and presented specific measures to enhance their resilience.
After the seminar participants commented: "I was able to become aware of my strengths and the values I want to cherish", "I learned that even one event can be viewed from multiple angles and that it is important to increase the flexibility of my thinking" and "I was impressed by the fact that not striving for perfection and asking others for help are also powers of resilience". It was a worthwhile opportunity to improve the resilence!
In the future, Kanazawa University will continue to cultivate and improve resilience in order to develop employees who can adapt to change without feeling overburdened, and who can grow and thrive in the face of difficulties.
