On November 13, Health Service Center held a "Confectionery making class using Kaga vegetables" as part of its student support program for dietary education. This time, 19 students (including 7 international students) and 3 staff members participated in the program, which was co-sponsored by KEYPAT* to provide mental health care for those who were stressed and anxious due to the disaster in Noto.

This time, Mr. Kenichi URANO, pastry chef of "Cake House Angel" was invited as an instructor to bake "Kanazawa Mont Blanc" the signature product of the store, using the traditional Kaga vegetable sweet potato "Gorojima Kintoki". The participants completed the cake after receiving an easy-to-understand explanation of the process from Mr. Urano, who also gave a demonstration. After cooking, Mr. Urano explained how the Kaga vegetable sweets were born and the current situation of Kaga vegetable farmers, deepening the participants' knowledge about food.

Participants commented: "It was very tasty and hearty", "During the talk about sweets, I learned that it is difficult to both carry on the tradition of production and make it profitable. I I was impressed that they are trying to build a win-win relationship with farmers in order to make use of it in confectioneries. I really like it, and glad that I can learn something new", "The pastry chef's talk was interesting and deepened my knowledge of Kaga vegetables" and so on.
