On November 5, Health Service Center held the "Casual Italian Cooking Class with Fish from Noto" as part of its student support program in cooperation with KEYPAT*. 14 students and 4 faculty members participated in this event. This time, chef Manabu Murakami from restaurant "Meal" in Kanazawa City, created a menu using ingredients from Noto as a Noto support project.
Under the guidance of Mr. Murakami, the participants experienced cooking "Meuniere of Noto Fish with Browned Butter and Tomato Sauce". Mr. Murakami explained how to cook the dish in an easy-to-understand manner, demonstrating how to bring out the flavor of sea bream using only one frying pan. In the latter half of the lecture, Mr. Murakami, who holds a hunting license, explained about the limited hunting season and what to do if you encounter a bear.
Students who participated in the class said: "The meuniere was just delicious. I want to use all the knowledge I learned from the professional", "It was good to know how to cook fish", "I learned how to pan-fry white fish and how to use unsalted butter" and "I learned how to live with animals by listening to hunting stories".
