On November 4, College of Human and Social Sciences, School of International Studies held the inaugural meeting of the Liaison Council and the 2024 Symposium at Kanazawa University Kakuma Campus as part of the "Japanese Language Teacher Training and Training Promotion Center Development Project (Chubu Block? Kanazawa University)" commissioned by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

Representatives from a total of 15 organizations, including universities, boards of education, and Japanese language education institutions in the Hokuriku region attended the general meeting for the establishment of the Liaison Council, where the charter was approved and the Liaison Council was established. In the symposium that followed, after an opening address by President Wada, Satoko Imamura Director of the Japanese Language Education Section of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology gave an explanation on the current situation and system of Japanese language education as "Expectations for the Center for Promotion of Training and Development of Japanese Language Teachers". Next, Ms. Mai Yoshikawa from Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies, Division of International Studies, Ms. Enpo Kondo from Hokuriku University, and Professor Noriko Ichishima from Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of International Studies reported on the current status and issues of support for students with foreign connections in Ishikawa Prefecture as "Comprehensive Education and Support Based on a Case Study of Support for Students with Foreign Links". Next, Teacher Takanori Okazaki with students from Fukui Prefectural Asuwa High School explained the support system for foreign students with the speach "Creating a school environment that supports collaborative learning between foreign students and Japanese students in the Multicultural Studies Department of Fukui Prefectural Asuwa High School".

Participants asked many questions, providing a valuable opportunity to learn about the current state of Japanese language education and share challenges with other participants.
