On November 2, KEYPAT*, a support team for mental health care in disasters, visited Wajima High School, which was affected by the earthquake, and participated in the interim presentation (second round) of the "City Development Project (Machipro)" a year-long group exploration study project by second-year students.

This project was the result of the high school students' desire to restore vitality to Wajima City, which was affected by the earthquake, and to encourage their classmates and families who had moved to other places to come back home.

KEYPAT has participated in three classes since July and has continued to interact with the students while keeping an eye on their progress. In fact, a number of dreams have been realized through the project: "we were able to revive fireworks in Wajima that were cancelled due to the earthquake through crowdfunding", "we created a place to show movies in town and for residents to interact", "we developed sweets that both cats and humans can eat", "we opened a relaxation space that everyone can use" and so on. The project has made many dreams come true. There was also a group that visited the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake to think about Noto's future recovery.

The ideas of the local young generation are very important for the recovery and reconstruction of Okunoto, and KEYPAT will use its knowledge and experience in school health to support the teachers and school community at Wajima High School.

(KEYPAT" is an abbreviation of the Kanazawa Educational Yell Psychological Assistance Team.

KEYPAT" is the official university-wide team of Kanazawa University that provides support to those who suffer from mental health problems due to disasters.
