The 51st All Japan University Rowing Championship was held from September 4 to 8. Kanazawa University men's pair of the rowing team: Kenji Maeoka (School of Medicine, 3rd year) and Atsuya Machino (School of Medicine, 2nd year) took second prize and reached the podium. This is the first time in 41 years that a men's team has won a medal at the All-Japan University Rowing Championships since 1983, when they won second place in the men's double sculls.

In addition, all groups from Kanazawa University could go to the finals (8th place in the women's quadruple, 8th place in the men's Oxford shield eight, 15th place overall in the men's single sculls, and 13th place overall in the men's fours with helmsman), which was a great achievement for the team.
