Seminar "What we can do for disaster-affected areas" for junior and high school students

On August 4, Advisor of Kanazawa University Volunteer Saport Station - Kaisei Harada lecturer from Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management, conducted a seminar for junior and high school students who belong to the Rotary Club (※). 43 junior and high school students participated in event.

In the seminar, after lectures on volunteer activities since the Noto Peninsula earthquake and the recent situation and needs of the affected areas, group discussions were held on the theme of "What we can do for the disaster-affected areas". The participating junior and high school students proposed ideas such as "deepening exchanges through study support and recreational activities in the affected areas," "investigating the charms of Ishikawa Prefecture and communicating them to as many people as possible," "raising funds to send donations to the affected areas," and "providing tourist information in our own cities," and actively exchanged opinions with each other.

*Rotary Club is a club that is member of Rotary International, an international coalition of community service organizations.
Interact club is a club sponsored by Rotary club for youth ages from 12 to 18 or high school students (volunteer club in junior and high schools)
