On July 15, Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station, leaded by lector Kaisei Harada from the Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management, conducted activities at Jyuuzou Shrine, private homes in Wajima City and at three locations in Noto Town.
At Jyuuzou Shrine, two faculty members and ten international students set up a second large tent to serve as a base for student volunteers to stay. The international students who participated came from a variety of countries, including China, Vietnam, the U.S., and Malaysia. They commented, "I was nervous at first, but the support from the faculty and staff and the warm welcome from the local people helped us to relax", "I saw with my own eyes the situation in the disaster area and realized that there are still many people in need even six months after the earthquake", "I learned a lot of things through this activity. I am glad that I could help to someone through this activity".
Beside this, in Noto Town, 21 students and faculty members removed drifting debris and cleaned up facilities at the tsunami-devastated Uchinoura Sports Park.
