On July 14, Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station, leaded by lector Kisei Harada from Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management and professor Tetsuya Sagawa from the Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Regional Development Studies, cleaned the Fukami Center (former Fukami Elementary School) in Fukami Town, Wajima City, and carried equipment and materials. The day's work included mowing the grounds, plowing flowerbeds, and cleaning the art room and classrooms in order to improve the landscape and the environment of the Fukami Center. In addition, since the Fukami Center has been hosting a monthly "restoration cafeteria," volunteers renovated one of the classrooms so that it can be used as an eat-in space.
Kanazawa University will continue to provide support to the affected areas and the people affected by the disaster.
