On May 31, a ceremony to award the title of Emeritus Professor was held at a hotel in Kanazawa City. 17 new individuals were appointed as Emeritus Professors.
At the ceremony, President Takashi Wada presented certificates to each of the attendees and offered words of thanks and congratulations for their great contributions. Emeritus Professor Shigeki Ohtake also gave a speech of thanks on behalf of the award recipients.
In the commemorative lectures of Emeritus Professors, President Wada gave a lecture entitled "Kanazawa University Contributing to Society through Future-oriented Intelligence," and Professor Yoshihiro Hiramatsu from the Faculty of Geosciences and Civil Engineering, Institute of Science and Engineering, gave a lecture entitled "How much do we know about the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake?" Afterwards, a social gathering with senior Emeritus Professors was held for the first time in five years.
