On May 25, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative Human Resource Development Group held the "Gokayama Spring Rice Planting Experience & Village Tour" as part of Project: AERU in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, with 17 Kanazawa University students participating.
The students experienced traditional rice planting by hand in the Gokayama Ainokura Gassho-Zukuri Village, which is designated as a World Heritage Site. After squaring up the paddy field with a wooden frame called a "korogashi," the seedlings were carefully planted by hand.
