On May 16, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative Human Resource Development Group held ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA: "Thinking about the future of Noto's satoyama sea" at Kakuma Campus as part of Project: AERU, with 10 of our students participating.
ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA" is an exchange program that creates a place for casual chats between students, faculty, and staff and people in the community. By freely discussing with each other without being restricted by occupation, industry, or position, we hope to help students develop their careers and generate ideas for faculty, staff, and participating companies.
This time, under the theme of "Thinking about the future of satoyama and satoumi in Noto," we welcomed five young employees of Daicel Corporation, which is based at the Biomass Green Innovation Center, Dr. Hideki Kobayashi, a resident of Suzu City and a researcher at Kanazawa University Noto Gakusha, and two graduates of the Noto Satoyama and Satoumi SDGs Meister Program, an advanced human resources development program for working people. The guests were two graduates of the high-level human resources development program for working adults the "Noto SatoyamaSatoumi SDGs My Star Program".
During the chatting time, Dr. Kobayashi talked about the current situation and issues in the Noto region, and each group exchanged opinions on the reconstruction of the Noto region. There was the opinion thet "In order to promote the recovery and reconstruction of Noto, it is necessary to ensure that the disaster-stricken areas are not forgotten".
The participating students commented, "I have rarely had a chance to discuss the future of Noto, so I was able to hear the opinions of many people and broaden my perspective," and "The idea to build a biomass facility and promote it as a new model for Noto's reconstruction was impressive.
