On March 15 and 16, 2024, Kanazawa University sent two teams, Kaichi Nihonbashi Gakuen High School, which won the Grand Prize, and Saibi Heisei Secondary School, which won the Excellent Prize in the 6th Math A-lympiad in Japan, to the world mathematics contest "Math A-lympiad" held in the Netherlands. The results were as follows: The Kaichi Nihonbashi Gakuen High School team won the first prize, and the Saibi Heisei Secondary School team came in fourth place.
The winning team received a trophy and a medal.
This year, 10 representative teams from the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Croatia, and other countries participated in the contest after having been selected through preliminary competitions. This was the first time when the team from Japan won the competition.
