On April 25, Daicel Corporation and Kanazawa University held the "1st Career Trail Lecture @ BGIC" at the Biomass Green Innovation Center (BGIC). 32 students, faculty, and staff attendedthis event.
The Career Trail Lecture is intended to provide students, faculty, and staff with a broad overview of how universities and companies are co-creating solutions to social issues, and to create opportunities for students and companies to work together to develop new career paths. The first session was held with Yamaha Labo representative Takahisa Yamaha, who has extensive experience at Yamaha Corporation and ROM Corporation.
First, Mr. Yamaha gave a lecture titled "How to build a career - How to carve out your own future". Based on his own experience, he offered advice to students on how to acquire skills to work with anyone, anywhere, and how to have a productive mindset.
Next, Associate Professor Hidetaka Yamada from the Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative explained the background of the establishment of BGIC and the concept of fusion of different fields, and Hiroaki Tamagaki of the Biomass Innovation Center of Daicel introduced his research at BGIC and the collaboration with our university.
After the lecture, a tour of the BGIC was conducted, giving participants a glimpse of the cutting edge of research being conducted jointly by the university and industry.
Participants commented: "I was saved by the idea that although my career was not what I had envisioned when I was in high school, I can change through various encounters," and "There is no reason to be hesitant to take on challenges, and even if I do not succeed, it will lead to experience and growth. I was encouraged by the words".
