On April 20, a public lecture entitled "Lecture on Ancient Documents - Intermediate Level - (1st session)" was held at Kakumachi Plaza, with 33 participants ranging in age from 50s to 90s.
First, Professor Nagao Ueda from the Institute of Human and Social Sciences introduced that the cultural property rescue project was started in the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake and the "Ishikawa Historical Materials Preservation Network (Ishikawa Historical Materials Net)" was established.
Next, he took up the "Goyokata Junki" of the Kikuchi family, which was a family of 10 villages in Tonami County in the Edo period, and explained the Shogunate's "Gosho-touchi" that regulates ronin, monogatari, and gamblers.
Through the next four lectures, we will deepen our understanding of the farming villages and the castle town of Kanazawa in the Kaga Domain territory.
