On April 11, College of Science and Engineering Noto Center for Fisheries Science and Technology served organically farmed cherry salmon to University Hospital as hospital food again this year. This is the second time that the hospital has served the salmon as a hospital meal since last year.
The center, located in Noto Town, has been developing next-generation aquaculture technology using organic aquaculture.
During the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, the center suffered damage from a broken water intake pipe, but this year, the center provided hospital food from cherry salmon that had been frozen and preserved safely.
In the next fiscal year and onward, University Hospital will continue to offer cherry salmon which has a good taste and low fat content, to patients as a seasonal meal (spring event meal). It remind them of Noto and create an opportunity to support the Noto region.
