[Title] Glial Responses and Peripheral Immune Interactions in the Pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s Disease
[Speaker] Professor Takashi Saito, Department of Neuropathology, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo

Alzheimer’s disease, the leading cause of dementia, still has many unknown aspects in its pathogenic mechanisms, which has contributed to delays in the development of effective therapeutics. Recent studies have revealed that glial cells and the peripheral immune system interact in complex ways during the progression of Alzheimer’s pathology.

In this seminar, recent findings related to these mechanisms will be introduced, and current challenges and future research directions will be discussed in depth.
