Event Details
In contrast to the rapidly advancing digital environment, many students continue to be affected by the negative aspects of digital society due to low levels of information media literacy, such as the misuse of AI and the spread of misinformation through social networking services. From the perspective that information media literacy cannot be taught solely at universities, this symposium will feature reports from the field of education that offer insights into addressing this issue in collaboration with elementary and secondary education.
Associate Professor Kazunori Sato, who has long been engaged in practical research on media literacy in elementary schools and currently serves as an expert member of the Elementary and Secondary Education Subcommittee of the Central Council for Education, will speak at the symposium. Principal Soichiro Kawachi, formerly a long-serving director at the Ishikawa Prefectural Board of Education, now leads Kanazawa Nisui High School, which has been designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as both a “DX High School” and a “Project for Strengthening English Education through the Use of AI” school. Assistant Professor Yoshihiro Mori, who specializes in information education and AI utilization at Kanazawa University, also actively shares insights through the e-Kyoiku Salon.
