Event Details
As part of "Treasure Discovery! Project" support project for FY2025 Kanazawa University Library, we will be holding the "Zenken Kojitsu Symposium - About Kikuchi Yosai and his disciple, Suzuki Kason".
In this symposium, two experts will give lectures on "Zenken Kojitsu," the bible of historical portraits by Yosai Kikuchi, a painter active from the Edo to Meiji periods, and on Kason Suzuki, a Japanese-style painter who was a disciple of Yosai and also associated with Ishikawa Prefecture. And then, we will exchange opinions on the influence of "Zenken Kojitsu" on art in the Meiji period. Please join us. We look forward to your participation.
