[Speaker] Associate Professor Kiyoshi Yamaguchi (Division of Clinical Genome Research, Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo)
We will hold a transdisciplinary seminar on research on the development of anti-cancer drugs utilizing genomic information and chemical biology.
Protein acetylation is one of the representative mechanisms of epigenetic regulation. The bromodomain is a functional domain that plays a key role in recognizing acetylated lysine residues, and it is involved in DNA-dependent cellular processes such as transcription and chromatin remodeling.
In this seminar, we will discuss the potential for developing anti-cancer drugs targeting bromodomains. We will also introduce specialized sequencing technologies that are useful in the field of chemical biology.
