Kick-off symposium for the project "Kanazawa Academy of Sciences: Training clinical research physicians who understand basic research and can promote international clinical research, and realizing work style reform for physicians"

Kanazawa University has established the "Kanazawa Academy of Sciences" (※) to build a sustainable research guidance system and research environment where people circulate, aiming to create a virtuous cycle of "training clinical research physicians who understand basic research and can promote international clinical research, and realizing work style reform for physicians by securing research time for researchers." In preparation for the implementation of this project, Kanazawa University will hold a kick-off symposium to clarify the philosophy of the Kanazawa Academy of Sciences and to widely publicize the significance of this project.

Anyone involved in medical education and research, as well as high school, university, and graduate students with an interest in medical research, can participate. We look forward to your participation!

※ What is "Kanazawa Academy of Sciences"?
Kanazawa University was selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for "Project for the Formation of a Center for the Development of Advanced Medical Personnel" in 2024. (Type A: 10 universities, Type B: 30 universities)
The name of the selected project is "Kanazawa Academy of Science's training of clinical research physicians who understand basic research and can promote international clinical research and realize work style reform for doctors" (Type A). (In collaboration with Kanazawa Medical University)

The establishment of the Kanazawa Academy of Sciences will foster young Faculty of Medicine researchers with high-level research capabilities. Until now, instruction in the basic skills (techniques for experiments, research, writing papers, etc.) necessary to become independent as a researcher has been taught individually under the supervision of a supervisor in each laboratory, but by providing this instruction centrally at the Kanazawa Academy of Sciences, we will ensure a high-level educational and research environment and fundamentally raise the research capabilities of young researchers.
