Event Details
On December 14th, public lecture entitled "The modern history of Osaka Castle" will take place at Kakumachi Plaza on Kanazawa University 's Kakuma Campus.
"Who built Osaka Castle?"
When asked this question, everyone thinks of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. That's not a mistake. Do you know when and by whom the current Osaka Castle tower was built? And do you know when the current magnificent stone walls and moat were built, and whether there are traces of Osaka Castle built by Hideyoshi there?
It seems that surprisingly few people can accurately answer these basic questions about Osaka Castle today.
In this course, we will explain these important points and then consider the value of Kanazawa Castle as a historical heritage site, comparing it with Osaka Castle.
